Antique maps featured in the exhibition Land of Gold and Spices and Island of Stories presented fascinating entry points to tell Singapore and Southeast Asian history. However, teenagers might not be enthused about the history simply by viewing the items on display. Inspired by the fact that maps have historically been exploration aids, we developed an activity sheet that sent students on their own journeys of discovery through group investigations.
