Partner: Health Promotion Board
Target groups: Teachers, secondary school students
We developed a teacher’s kit and nine students’ activity sheets to help engage students in discussions about the risks of smoking. Preaching right off the bat would have turned teenagers off, halting any further dialogue. The kit enabled teachers to lead students’ discussions from diverse viewpoints. With this open, democratic approach, we helped teachers connect more easily to young adults who were asserting their independence and their right to choose. Not only that, we also helped teenagers make more informed decisions about smoking.
