Target group: Primary school students
Children in Singapore begin primary school when they are seven; Kangxi became emperor at the same age. Through the activities in this guide, students learnt about the extraordinary aspects of Emperor Kangxi’s childhood, from his lavish breakfasts to his ever-present bodyguards to the huge responsibilities on his tiny shoulders. We opened their eyes to how vastly their lives differed from Kangxi’s despite their similar ages and inspired in them a sense of wonder for the history of ancient China.
