We developed and customised this programme to train IRAS officers as guides for the IRAS Gallery. As most IRAS officers were new to museum guiding, we used a robust hands-on approach, including techniques such as role-playing, to help the trainees become aware of what visitors would feel and experience when guided in different ways. The trainees greatly enjoyed themselves, with all of them vouching for the programme, which they believed would be very helpful to new docents.
