What was it like here before Raffles landed in 1819? The island’s early days can seem remote from modern times, especially for young children. Luckily, we could pivot our tour of the museum’s Singapura gallery on the myth of Prince Sang Nila Utama’s discovery of Singapura. Our young participants were fully engaged as they reenacted the prince’s journey using props and songs amid the immersive gallery environment. Ancient Singapore did not seem not so far away after all.
