Senior Curator

As a Senior Curator, you excel at conceptualising and executing exhibitions that not only educate but also captivate and inspire. You will set the vision and narrative for the space, guiding and managing teams and clients towards success. Your ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with a dynamic team of creatives will be key to your success in this role. You possess strong leadership skills and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

What will you be doing?

  • Curate and manage exhibitions: Develop and oversee the execution of exhibitions from concept to installation, ensuring they align with HOL’s vision and client objectives.
  • Research and content development: Conduct thorough research to inform exhibition themes and narratives. Collaborate with researchers and writers to produce accurate and compelling content.
  • Design and interpretive planning: Work with diverse creative teams to develop interpretive plans and design layouts that enhance visitor engagement and learning.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams: Work closely with spatial designers, graphic designers, multimedia technologists, researchers, writers, fabricators, clients, IP owners, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Project management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Work with the project team to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and guide team: Inspire, mentor, and support both internal and external teams to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Engage and educate: Oversee the development and creation of educational programmes, materials, and digital engagements that complement exhibitions and enhance visitor understanding.
  • Maintain strong industry knowledge: Stay abreast of current trends in technology and best practices in curatorial and exhibition design.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience: Minimum bachelor’s degree holder in the field of Museum Studies, Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field. At least 10 years of experience in curatorial work with a strong portfolio in content development for exhibitions. Must have led and completed the curation of exhibitions in museums, galleries, and attractions.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, research, storytelling, and project management skills. Proficiency in writing panel texts and a keen aesthetic sense to guide the team in achieving the desired emotional impact.
  • Creativity: A passion for creating engaging and inspiring experiences. Creative and insatiably curious with wide-ranging interests in different disciplines and the latest technologies.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to inspire, mentor, and lead a team, ensuring successful project outcomes.
